You can always make traveling experiences more safe by doing simple things such as keeping an emergency kit in the trunk to making sure the car seat your child is in is not "expired" and it is the proper fit for your son/daughter. Things that you can keep in your emergency kit would be blankets, flashlights, and a basic first-aid kit. I have even heard of some fire stations that will offer free inspections on your car seat to make sure it is properly installed.

Thank you for this great review. I know first hand how that statistic that an accident happens within 5 miles of your own home. My accident just recently was about two miles from house. It totaled out my van. I had my two precious children with me and nothing was more fearful then not knowing when I looked back in their seats if they were hurt or not. I NEVER want to experience that fear again.
