Fabulous Fours - FishSticks Game Review and Giveaway

Math is a crucial skill in life. And it can be frustrating trying to teach a child basic math skills. But Peaceable Kingdom has come up with a solution for that. Peaceable Kingdom created the game called Fish Stix.... This is a game rated from ages 6-12, but can be played by children younger or older. The rules for the game: Fish Stix is a visual strategy game. To start, players place 1 fish stick in the center of a table where all players can reach it. Give 3 sticks, 1 scoreboard, and 6 fish tokens to each player. Players take turns matching fish by color and direction. For every fish matched, a player moves her fish tokens that number of spaces on her scoreboard. The first player to move all tokens to 10 wins!



Peaceable Kingdom has allowed me to try out this game! I will have to admit, looking at the instructions, I can see why they rated it for an older age (6 year Old). My son (who is almost 4) and myself sort of bent the rules.... and used it as a matching game... and worked on his counting. We would take a handful of Stix and match up the fish (in the correct directions) and then take another stick and match that to where it goes... and when we used about 10 sticks... We worked on counting how many of each "fish pattern" in a row he got! This is defiantly a versatile game.
